Findynet funds Development of Digital Wallets

Findynet Cooperative is supporting digital wallet providers to bring their wallets to the Finnish market. The wallets will be translated into Finnish and Swedish, and they will conform to the technical requirements of the Findy network.

Following our RFI and RFP processes, we’re excited to announce that we will fund the development of six digital wallet solutions. The supported vendors are AnimoGatacaImpierceSphereon/4SureToppan Security, and Ubique.

These vendors will use the funding to develop their wallets to meet the requirements of the Findy network and translate them into Finnish and Swedish.

By supporting the Decentralized Identity Interop Profile (DIIP), these wallets will be interoperable with ecosystems that share similar requirements.

Most of the wallets will also support the OpenID Federation protocol, one of the foundations of the Findynet trust infrastructure. Wallets supporting OpenID Federation can show their users that the organizations they interact with are trusted entities.

The availability of multiple wallets supporting DIIP and OpenID Federation will simplify ecosystem development and credential interoperability, benefiting issuers, verifiers, and holders alike.

We received 14 responses to our Request for Proposals. Our evaluation focused on pricing and the current quality of the wallets.

Wallet providers not funded in this round may still be included in the Findy-compliant wallet list if they implement DIIP conformance and OpenID Federation support independently.
