Digital trust boot camp in Espoo on February 12 and 13, 2025

Findynet and Sphereon invite development teams from organizations of all sizes to participate in a two-day immersive workshop focused on integrating digital credentials and trust frameworks into real-world systems.

The event offers your development team hands-on learning to develop practical solutions you can implement right away and networking opportunities to connect with other teams and experts in the field.

Event focus and agenda

The boot camp sessions aim to get the teams started developing services based on enhanced trust.

We give a short introductory course for people who are not yet familiar with the core concepts. The main focus of the event is to develop working solutions. One day’s output may not be ready for production use, but the development team should be able to work independently after the boot camp session.

The first day will concentrate on issuing and verifying digital credentials. You’ll learn how to issue a digital credential to your customer’s digital wallet or request and use a digital credential issued by another organization. We use Sphereon’s credential agent and digital wallet as examples, but the lessons learned can easily be transferred to other solutions.

The second day’s focus is federated trust infrastructure using the OpenID Federation protocol. The teams will learn how to create entity configurations to state things about their organizations, and how to verify statements made by others. We will use the OpenID Federation server hosted by Findynet, but you can take what you learn and use it with other providers – or host your own federation.

On both days, the teams can have lunch at their own cost at the nearby restaurants ISS FG and Sodexo Foodhub.

Day 1: integrate Digital Credentials into your systems

  • Learn how to issue or verify digital credentials
  • Bring your development team and use case
  • The Bootcamp facilitators will help you define the data structure for a credential, integrate your system with a credential agent, and test the integration with a digital wallet

Day 2: use Trust Framework in your ecosystem

  • Learn how to use OpenID Federation to publish and consume trust statements
  • Build a chain of trust from trusted authority to ecosystem members
  • Use REST APIs or a web user interface to maintain and query trust statements
  • Integrate Trust Framework to your issuer or verification solution or authentication system

Networking and Evening Event

On the evening of day 1, enjoy a casual networking event with light snacks and the opportunity to connect with other participants. A sauna will also be heated for those interested.

The development teams do not need prior experience with digital credentials or wallets. Familiarity with REST APIs and your preferred programming language is sufficient.
