Invitation to Participate in Findynet’s Digital Identity Wallet Market Survey

Findynet Cooperative is pleased to announce the launch of a Digital Identity Wallet Market Survey, aimed at assessing the readiness and capabilities of current and potential digital wallet providers as well as technology providers in the digital identity space. We are inviting interested organizations to participate in this important survey, which will help shape the future of secure digital identity solutions in Finland.

The Goal of the Market Survey

The goal of Findynet is to establish a network of credential agents and digital identity wallets from various actors, ensuring that solutions from different providers are interoperable. For Findynet’s pilot projects to be successful, there must be at least one wallet solution on the market that provides a first-class user experience and is technically interoperable with Findynet’s specifications. Therefore Findynet has decided to initiate a scenario planning process to answer the following question: What is the best way to ensure that there is at least one wallet solution on the market that offers a first-class user experience and is technically interoperable with Findynet for the purpose of implementing Findynet’s pilot projects?”

The survey will assess, map, and compare two key options for a digital identity wallet solution:

1. A wallet provided by a national or EU/EEA actor.

2. Findynet acquiring the necessary technologies and launching its own wallet.

The survey will focus on potential and current wallet providers, as well as technology providers, across both the public and private sectors in the digital identity space. In the private sector, we are particularly interested in participants from finance, telecoms, trust services, and digital postal services.

What the Survey Will Assess

The market survey will assess the capabilities and readiness of the different actors, including their ability to produce a wallet that functions at the national level in Finland or that complies with the eIDAS regulation, as well as their ability to provide the necessary technologies to develop these solutions. Although the key specifications of the eIDAS regulation are not yet finalized, many organizations have built valuable knowledge, skills, and complementary services through previous projects, making them ideal candidates for digital identity wallet applications. The survey will also gauge the willingness of various actors to cooperate with Findynet to ensure interoperability and engage in industry self-regulation in Finland.

Confidentiality and Participation

All responses will be treated with full confidentiality. This survey is purely informational and does not imply any procurement or commitment. A summary of responses will be shared with all participants, anonymized to ensure no individual respondent is identifiable.
