Findynet is looking for SSI Solutions

The Findynet Cooperative is soliciting answers to a request for information (RFI) from SSI solution vendors. Our goal is to build a list of candidate solutions to be used in our pilots and later in our production network.

Scope of the RFI

To support organizations participating in the pilots, we will create a list of SSI solutions and their vendors. Of course, participating organizations can choose their own solutions, as long as they are interoperable with the protocols and formats selected for the pilot.

In addition to supporting organizations participating in the Findynet pilots, we will use the data collected to evaluate the potential future provision of SSI services as part of our own service portfolio.

We are interested in solutions that enable organizations to:

  • hold and present Verifiable Credentials issued to them
  • issue Verifiable Credentials to other parties and
  • verify Verifiable Credentials presented to them by other parties.

Some vendors refer to these as “all-in-one SSI solutions.”

Background and previous work

We have already worked with TNO to add more SSI solution providers to their Wallet Overview. This list is well suited for technical comparison of solutions. Next, we want to learn about the advanced features, APIs, support, business models, etc. of the SSI solutions.

Findynet pilots

The Findynet Cooperative together with its members and other stakeholders, is launching a series of projects to test and pilot Self-sovereign identity (SSI) and Verifiable Credentials. We will run the pilots during 2023 and 2024, aiming to be ready for production in early 2025.

In some pilots, we may require compatibility with our current test network (Hyperledger Indy). In some pilots, there may be a requirement to be EUDI ARF compatible. In yet another pilot, we may require EBSI compliant technology. We are not looking for one solution to be used on all pilots (although that is a very welcome option), but rather a list of solutions to choose from based on each pilot’s requirements.

Our pilots are not directly linked to the EUDI Large Scale Pilots. Findynet is an associated partner in the EUDI Wallet Consortium, and there may be some synergies between some Findynet pilots and the EUDI Large Scale Pilots.

How to participate

You can answer to the RFI by filling in the online RFI form. You can also send additional information to an email address included in the form. The deadline for submission is August 6th, 2023.
